In the esoteric philosophical terminology of computer simulation, "simuloids" are characters without human control or counterpart, whilst "avatars" do have human control or counterpart, whilst "shades" are reanimations of dead humans. The avatar's human controller exists outside of the interface. The world of computer simulation may mimic our reality. As in a computer program, our reality may have "bugs," or errors. The "computer programmers" of our reality may be like "gods." An avatar's outside controller may be a transdimensional being. Such is an esoteric view.
