20140828 Anthropology

The traditionalist anthropologist in me prefers dividing humanity into 4 subspecies—the Caucasoid, the Mongoloid, the Negroid, and the Australoid. In recent time, however, the newer anthropological model of using human genetic clustering analysis or principal components analysis has influenced me. New anthropology prefers not to talk of "races," but of "gene clusters" as they think that all humans are different. Yes, there is a lot of gobbledygook nowadays, in this field. There are multitudinous ways of slicing the expansive range of human genetic variation. Anthropologists use things called genetic markers in their analyses.

However, white people still cherish the spectrum between the Mediterranean (dago) and the Nordic kinds of their gene pool. New anthropologists prefer not to refer to races, as I mentioned. Some claim that race is a social aspect and is not biological. There may be heated arguments concerning political correctness as anthropology is often controversial. Race is also political. A perception of race is often encouraged for social cohesion.
